The availability of the daily fruit shop encourages our pupils to eat healthily and the Foundation Phase pupils receive free milk daily. Our outside play areas promote active and healthy lifestyles.
We encourage everyone to avoid waste, conserve energy and water and to reduce, reuse and recycle.
We recycle paper, card, plastic, batteries and clothes.
Our pupils value and enjoy their learning experiences from PC Cath (local school liaison Police Officer), Sue Thomas (School Nurse), cycling profiency and visits from the Rev. Geoffry Gainor (local Vicar). During the various visits they learn about road safety, citizenship, sustainability and healthy eating.
The school has been awarded with Four Healthy Schools Leaves, and the Gold award for Design to smile (teeth brushing). The school has also achieved the Green Flag in Eco Schools.
As part of being a healthy school the pupils in the Junior class have been walking/running a mile a day throughout the Summer term.
